Called to Order: 1:45 PM in person after market


  • Proposal from Ben + Fee Restructuring Committee

  • Create equity amongst high and low grossing vendors

  • Accessibility for new vendors

  • Separate payments: vending fee set rate per space per day

    • Membership fee due based on sales

  • Large vendors should pay more and want to pay more

  • Base membership fee $100

  • 1% gross sales for the season

  • Full season discount for 23 markets (0.8%)

  • Vending fee reduced and flat fee $15/market

  • Part time vendors don't see an increase

  • Model allows for an $1100 surplus over last year

  • Large and small vendors all contribute to vibrancy of market

  • Concern about keeping large vendors and ag vendors

  • When should payment be due?

  • Need additional props/handouts to give to membership at annual meeting

  • Creating a funding structure for long term market viability

  • How to streamline and guideline for new members

  • Revolves around vendor honesty

  • At a certain point we will have to raise vendor rates anyway

  • Pay someone to make a calculator simulator based off of weekly sales to calculate percentage of sales owed at end of season for ease of use

  • Josh’s minutes are all done and on website

    • Mieko is looking at Rose’s google doc of minutes and seeing how best to incorporate into website

  • Keri updates: 

    • Taste of montpelier is Sept 10 + corn roast same day

      • Montp alive gave $500 grant for corn roast and VT creamery donated butter

      • Montpelier alive wants to table at market and do cooking demos that day at market

      • Events that shut down the street decrease market sales

      • Cross promotion amongst events and market is very important/working with the city

      • Fall Fest Sept 24

    • Barr Hill update: 33 total vendors; 14 outside 18-19 inside with 2 ft between each vendor and not putting vendors in tight corners

    • Load in and out of front side door

    • Barr hill creating overflow parking currently

    • Barr hill O.K with cooking outside

    • Get quote on touching up walls/damage

    • 10-2pm open hours for market

    • Different rate for being outside?

    • Applications: Prim pickle- yes, Khelcom Farm- yes
